MR MACARONI BLASTS NIGERIAN SENATE PRESIDENT - THIS ISN'T LEADERSHIP, HE SAYS
Popular Nigerian skit maker, comedian and activist Adebowale Adedayo, otherwise known as Mr Macaroni, has called out the Nigerian senate for their selfishness and corruption.
Mr Macaroni took to his verified Twitter page to blast them as he responded to a viral video of the Nigerian senate making rounds on social media on August 9, 2023. In the video, Godswill Akpabio, Nigerian senate president, was seen informing the members of the senate that they had been allocated an allowance in order to 'enjoy their holiday'.
Mr Macaroni, in his tweet that is making waves, questioned Akpabio and the other leaders. His tweet reads, "These are the leaders that have asked struggling Nigerians to make sacrifices if they want things to work in the country. So while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, our leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays."
The activist cum comedian expressed his dissatisfaction over the lack of sacrifice of the leaders, noting that the Nigerian leaders are lacking in selflessness to be in charge of the affairs of the country. He also questioned how long the masses would continue to suffer and fund the expensive lifestyles of the leaders.
In his words, "Who are those that should be making sacrifices if not for our leaders? Do our leaders understand that leadership is about service, selfishness, and sacrifice?? Why do the poor people of Nigeria have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders?? Why??? This isn’t leadership!!!"
The actor has come out to frown at the disbursement of 'holiday funds' by the Senate president to the senators, while Nigerians continue to feel the pain of the hardship in the country.
In another of his tweet, he said, "The Senate President has sent very Expensive prayers out of the insufficient blessings of over 200 Million people to himself and his already blessed colleagues at the National Assembly."
Mr Macaroni has been vocal about the injustices of the Nigerian government to the plight of its citizens for many years and was one of the recognized faces behind the peaceful #ENDSARS protest in October, 2020.
